May 10, 2020 - Church open for worshippers

St. John Lutheran Church will be open to worshippers beginning May 10,. 2020. Please follow "Social Distancing" guidelines. Please wear a mask if you wish - it is not required. Hand sanitizer is available to use when you walk into the church. We will not shake hands or touch when we "share the peace". Only families that live together can sit together. Please leave every other pew empty to accommodate social distancing.

Bulletins with attendance record slips inside will be on the table in the entrance to pick up when you walk in. Ushers will not be handing them out. Leave your offering and attendance record slips in the offering tray that will be at the Communion Table during Communion Services or on table in back of church.

If you do not feel safe or have a health issue, please stay home and watch our service on Facebook Live. Services are Sundays at 9:00 am. Look for St. John Lutheran Church on Facebook.

If you wish to send a monetary contribution, please mail it to the church at P.O. Box 206, Poth, Tx 78147 or drop it off at the office on Tuesdays between 8-5. You can also donate online at Tithely.com.

2021 Annual Rummage & Bake Sale - date to be determined

We plan to have our Annual Rummage & Bake Sale during the fall of 2021.

Introduction

St. John Lutheran Church was built in 1922 and is a member of the ELCA. Pastor Kelly Tankersley leads us in worship and praise every week. Communion is celebrated the 1st and 3rd Sundays and Saturday evening services. Everyone is welcome to attend services and join in fellowship.

Service times

Worship services are held every Sunday at 9:00 AM with Sunday School at 10:15. We also have Saturday evening services with Communion the 4th Saturday of the month at 6:30 PM. No Saturday services in October, November, December or January.

Advent/Christmas Schedule:

Midweek Advent services are Wednesdays at 6:30 pm.

Christmas Eve Services are at 5:00 pm and 11:00 pm. Christmas Day Service is at 9:00 am. Communion will be offered at all 3 Christmas services. Everyone is welcomed to receive communion.

Easter Service Schedule:

Sonrise Service 7:00 am

Easter Breakfast 8:00 am

Easter Service 9:00 am

Easter Egg Hunt 10:15 am

Midweek Lenten services are Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm. Maundy Thursday & Good Friday services are also at 6:30 pm.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend our services.
